Nyala Sports Club (Nyala SC), based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was founded in 1988 with the purpose of promoting sports and unity within the local Ethiopian community. Since its inception, Nyala SC has provided members of the Ethiopian diaspora with an enduring platform to play, compete, and celebrate the beautiful game of soccer.

For over 37 years, Nyala SC has proudly represented Minnesota in the Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America (ESFNA) tournament — one of the most recognized sporting and cultural events among Ethiopian communities across the continent. Throughout its history, the club has remained a consistent participant, continuously striving to achieve excellence and capture the tournament’s prestigious championship title.
